1) Do NOT operate any electrical switches, phones inside, or create any sparks. 2) Evacuate all staff and customers immediately. 3) Call 911 from outside the building. 4) Call your gas company's emergency line. 5) Do NOT re-enter until emergency responders clear the building. 6) Contact a certified kitchen equipment technician to inspect and repair gas connections before reopening. Gas leaks can cause explosions — always take them seriously.

1) Call an emergency refrigeration technician immediately. 2) Take and document temperature readings. 3) Move the most temperature-sensitive items (proteins, dairy) to alternate refrigeration first. 4) Contact your health department if temperatures approach 40°F+ — they can advise on food safety decisions. 5) Document all food temps for insurance claims. 6) Consider dry ice or portable refrigeration units for critical inventory. 7) Alert your supplier you may need emergency replacement products.

Walk-in door gaskets typically last 2-4 years and should be inspected every 6 months. Signs of failing gaskets: visible tears or cracks, frost buildup near the door frame, condensation on the door frame, noticeably warmer temperatures near the door, or the door not staying closed. A failing gasket forces the compressor to work harder, increasing energy costs and reducing equipment life.
